Joe Vannelli's formal training began in Montreal as a youngster studying music theory for two years, followed by six years of private piano tutoring. Being influenced by such artists as Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck and Errol Garner, just to mention a few, along with the pop and R&B artist of the 60's & 70's also played a major role in Joe's musical development.

Today, Joe is a producer, arranger, composer, programmer and keyboardist with his own musical style and his own state of the art recording studio, Blue Moon Studio. Joe has worked with his brothers Gino & Ross and together helped catapult the synthesizer sound of the 1970's and early 1980's. Since then, Joe has worked on albums in studios worldwide on a variety of music projects. Joe has been nominated for several Grammy Awards including one for Best Arrangement. He has also been nominated for several Juno Awards in Canada and won for Best Production on six occasions. Joe's musical styles range from universal pop to jazz to eclectic. Having worked with his brother Gino for many years,his own career has paralleled that of his brother. Starting out in their hometown of Montreal, Gino & Joe played together in high school and college years. Later on, Joe played a major role in the production, arranging, programming, engineering and compositional aspects of Gino's albums. Joe has also toured with Gino to many places around the world such as, Japan, Mexico, Canada, Europe, South America and the United States.

Joe's musical passions also extend into in-depth MIDI sequencing and programming, which is reflected in many of his productions. Joe has become a leader in the music industry when it comes to composing, arranging and producing utilizing the MIDI technology. Each one of Joe's productions is different from the last. With a wide range of music talent, respect and integrity, there is no limit to what this musical master can do.
